Spinning, Flicking and What Am I Going To Do With This????

Last night I finished with the spinning of some Icelandic batts. I'm not sure I really like Icelandic although I do like the way it plied up with the leftover Romney Cross.

Still not sure what I'm going to do with any of my homespun. I've thought about possibly making a bag.

For now it just got added to "the door."

I've begun processing some of the wool I recently dyed. I think I made a mess of things. Not sure. The wool isn't felted, I do know that but I think in its present state the only thing I can do is either hand card or drum card it. Since at present time I do not own a drum carder either I'll have to hand card or put it away until I get a drum carder.

I was able to gather a few locks out of this mess.

I combed a few of locks and ran it through a diz. Diz is for the birds!!!! I also flicked some of the locks. Ready for spinning.

I've been sick all week and still not feeling all that great. Some kind of head, chest junk. I attempted to go to church this morning. I did stay for Sunday School and long enough to see some friends from our former church. Typically my husband and I lead worship twice a month and this was our week. I was there for practice but didn't do any singing. One of our background singers, Amy, said when she felt bad she went and bought a new pair of shoes and that always made her feel better. I don't necessarily want a new pair of shoes, but how about a portable spinning wheel, a loom, a drum carder, or lots more fiber. That might do the trick.!!!!!

Ha Ha! Actually, I think lots of rest might be your best bet ;~)
Re: my sweater(BTW, thanks for your kind comment!) I've been working on it for 14 months-so I'm not what anyone would call fast. Although I do hope to do better on the next one! And I'm done with cables for a while-that should help!

I have a door that looks similar to yours, too, what a nice coincidence! It is just so handy to store hanks of yarn there.

Are you going to knit something with both the pink and gray? They look so nice hanging there together!

I hope you get to feeling better, being sick stinks, I know. I haven't felt like doing anything, but yes a wheel would make me feel much better too :)
I can't wait to see your tie-dyed fiber spun up, I think it might end up being a happy mistake :)

The pink and grey look great together. I am spinning some grey llama fleece right now.

I love reading this and reading about your progress and your latest projects....When I come down you will have to show me all that you have done :) and one day you will have to teach me (starting from the basics of course)

Feel better soon! The spinning is looking fabulous. You may grow to like the diz better over time..and if you'd like, we can work out a way for you to try some processing techniques with my equipment if you feel like it. I have added your blog to my blog list. I'm terrible about that--I read many more blogs than I post on my blog. It's partially laziness, and it's also that I have a diverse set of interests and not everyone is interested in the same stuff!
