Feeling A Little Freaked!!!!!

Okay, I'm feeling kinda freaky. I mean, I think I may have some sort of fit or seizure. Have you seen the story about the dude that got stuck in an elevator for over 41 hours? I mean, how horrible would that be? Gosh, I don't know about you guys but I think I would be pretty freaked.

So, I've been mulling over some ideas to consider before you get on an elevator.

  • Make sure you have knitting, more than one project would be best, with you at all times.
  • You may want to make use of the restroom before you hop in that little box, particularly IF every move you make inside that little box is being filmed.
  • Make sure you have knitting with you at all times, more than one project would be best.
  • You might want to consider WHO you are getting onto the elevator with. Do these people look like someone you want to share a 6x6 foot cube with for Lord only knows how long? Think about it friend.
  • You should carrying at least one knitting project with you AT ALL TIMES. More than one project would be best.
  • Keep your cell phone on you at all times.
  • ALWAYS, have knitting on your person. More then one project to choose from would be best.
  • Carry peanut butter & crackers and a bottle of water with you at all times. However, IF you didn't pay attention to who you are getting on the elevator with you may not want to bring this out unless you can perform a miracle by multiplying the goods enough to provide for everyone.
  • It is always good to have knitting in your bag. Carrying more than one project at a time is to be considered.
  • You may want to carry knock-out drops or tranquilizer darts in your bag to be used IF you are one that just jumps onto elevators without checking out who else is riding.
  • More important than anything, carrying knitting with you at all time is extremely important to your sanity. Having more than one project to choose from is advisable.

Peggy,

My thoughts exactly! He would have been much calmer with a little knitting. Don't leave home without it!

I agree! Always place at least one knitting project in your bag. :)

My first thought was 41 hours and no knitting?!? A lesson well-learned. I rarely regret bringing knitting with me (like when I lug it around the grocery store and never get to knit), but I have often regretted not having it with me. I will never look at elevators the same way.

Thanks for the chuckle. I'm getting better at having some knitting with me at all times. My biggest problem is that I don't carry a purse and feel silly lugging around those ZipLock bags.

I saw that story and couldn't figure out why nobody noticed he was missing. Did I miss a part of the story???

You're right by the way......always have your knitting in case of emergency elevator mishaps.

You are so funny! I saw that article and felt totally anxious for that guy. How horrible. What's worse is that it ruined his life! He lost his apartment and his job all because of that traumatic experience...

And yes, I'd want some knitting (and a book, and maybe some paper and a pen) if I were stuck in an elevator. I think a cell phone to call the cops might be wise, too. (but not to gossip about being stuck in an elevator. That might put me over the edge!)

This is what knitting headbands on size 0 short DPNs is for. Knitting that fits in your pocket, so you're never without.

Just in case, you know, the elevators really *are* out to get you.
