Here is my first yarn, or singles, I've spun on my new Kromski Polonaise. Not too bad for a beginner. At least I don't think so. It is from a Romney Cross that Joanne gave me. I'm not sure it is supposed to be that fuzzy, but hey it's my first time. :) I haven't named her yet, got any ideas? I know she is Polish, but the name has to be French. I thought of Bebe, but not sure about that. And I thought about Monique, but I knew a Monique. Got any ideas? Before you go spouting off take a good look at her.

Looks good to me! Romney can be hairy. I gave you several different cross bred Romneys so you can see the diversity in the breed or in a crossbred sheep. I think that the brownish gray is from a purebred Romney Ram, and the cream and chocolate brown are from Romney cross. Some lean towards fine wools and others are coarse and some right in the middle. I think the light gray is Icelandic, which is particularly hairy, but hardwearing and easy to spin.
You are doing great. I had to sit quietly with my wheel (a Symphony) for a few days before she told me what her name was.

I had to spin on my Sonata for a long time before she named herself.

Beautiful first yarn. Isn't it great fun. I love my Minstrel too, but have never really named him.....just my Minstrel. He does make me happy. What is the word for giver or maker in French? You'll find the right name for her.

Looks like you're off to a great start! I got a Symphony for Christmas and it took about a week or so before she told me her name (Giselle). Oh, and if you haven't been told yet, Kromski's are oil hogs when they are new. You will need to oil at least every hour or so when you are first starting, then its only for every few hours of spinning time. Thought I'd mention it to save you a headache later if you didn't already know.
